Security forces had fired tear gas at protesters in Harare and Bulawayo. In Harare, a military helicopter fired tear gas at protesters burning tires and blocking roads while in Bulawayo officers used tear gas as protesters began to loot local businesses. The clashes followed demonstrations a day earlier when dozens of people took to the streets in Harare and Bulawayo to protest against fuel price hikes.

Demonstrations motivated by the increase in fuel prices occurred in Nkulumane and Tshabalala in Bulawayo. Police used tear gas and water cannons in attempt to disperse the protestors some of who throw stones and other objects at the officers.

At least 11 protesters were injured in clashes with security personnel in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir state where residents protested the recent deaths of two prominent separatist militants who had been killed by security forces. Protesters threw rocks at security personnel, who initially used tear gas in attempt to disperses the protestors and later used live ammunition. Tensions remain heightened throughout the region and further civil unrest is likely.
